Has done it again. Say what you want about the bald judas, but he is a canny marketer, of that there is no doubt. Chelsea have signed a deal with You Tube to show archive footage and club news. With the rights to show premiership games evolving, and club TV channels not showing signs of growth this is a very good preemptive move from the Russians. Given that clubs will one day be able to negotiate their rights individually, and fixed time subscriptions channels surely a mug's game - distributing the maximum amount of content online is a great tactical move.
Chelsea we be able to track the demand for old content, and understand where, when and how to get it to their fans. More than that, if they can position if their channel as a one stop shop for all chelsea news, they'll be able to deviate traffic away from other fan blogs and news sites, all with the differentating factor of providing good content, not plain speculative text.
David Gill, this is a call directly to you. Get on this now. If united had all Cantona's finest moments online, available instantly, why would I ever care what sky sports news says ever again. This is true of a lot of men (and women) aged 8-80. Think of the audiences.
Still, they're six points behind. And thats all that really matters.
