2007 should be a big year for tunes, so I'm told. Those who know tell me these bands will be big this year...
1. The View
Couple of top ten singles already, proper indie. We like. (Yes they sound a little bit like the Libertines).
Superstar Tradesmen video.
The 'yeah' is a bit unnecessary, but the tunes are there. They've got the same management company as Bloc Party, The Streets and The Zutons, which means we're going to hear more from these boys.
Does it offend you, yeah? in the studio.
3. Orphan Boy
Shameless plug for the north. Mike 'the most famous man in Ireland' Higson tells me they'll be great. Although he's lining up to be their tour manager. Signed to a very indie label, so whether we hear more from the boys from Cleethorpes will depend on whether they can busk enough to get a train fare to London, and a space on me living room floor. Lamacq likes them, and the north is back in fashion.
Orphan Boy live at Barnsley Cherry Bomb Disco.
And Glastonbury's back! Lets hope the rumours are true, and this man is headlining...
